Biography
Mr. Jason O. Wilson, age 51, is the best-selling author of Battle Cry (2021) and Cry Like a Man (2019) and also the founder and CEO of The Yunion, Inc (pronounced union), a nonprofit organization he established to reach youth in his home state of Detroit, Michigan, where he was born on August 21, 1970.
An expert in Emotional Stability Training®, Wilson created the Cave of Adullam Transformational Training Academy (CATTA), one of the Yunion’s many programs, with the goal to teach, train, and transform uninitiated boys into comprehensive men of the Most High, men who are physically conscious, mentally astute, and spiritually strong enough to navigate through the pressures of this world without succumbing to their negative emotions.
Under his leadership, the Yunion has effectively reached more than 10,000 youth and young adults in Metro Detroit, and Wilson has demonstrated powerful results in improving the life outcomes of black boys and men, teaching them how to introspectively confront and conquer their negative emotions with composure.
Wilson's incredible work earned him the Campaign for Black Male Achievement Innovation Accelerator Award in 2015. He received the President's Volunteer Service Award at the White House for then-President Baraka Obama in 2016, where he was also a presenter for the My Brother's Keeper Showcase. He received the Chick-Fil-A's True Inspiration Award for the CATTA’s innovative approach to emotional and mental health for males in 2016. He received the General Motors African Ancestry Network’s Inspiration Award in 2018, and the Closing the Gap Social Impact Award, also in 2018. He was selected to receive the FAAN’s Community Service Award in 2019.
Wilson has been a guest on the popular Breakfast Club radio show in 2021 and several TV shows, such as The Dr. Oz Show where he discussed his Emotional Stability Training® approach. A documentary about his life produced by Laurence Fishburne debuts during the 2022 Tribeca Film Festival.
Personally, one of Wilson's greatest achievements is his family, as the husband of over 20 years to his wife Nicole and a proud father of two beautiful children, Alexis and Jason Jr.
Jason Wilson is 51 years old. Jason Wilson was born in Detroit, Michigan, on August 21, 1970.
